Jan started sewing in the sixth grade, from then on, she has tried a lot of different things. She got hooked on making quilts twenty years ago. She went to a quilt show and decided she would take a quilting class. The very first quilt was a rail fence, pieced on the sewing machine, and hand quilted. She thought she would never finish quilting this full size quilt, but she did, and it is still in service having been washed more times than she can remember. She has quilted on a Bernina for a good many years, then decided to purchase the APQS Freedom Longarm in 2007. She jumped right in and started playing with quilts she had on hand and some donation quilts. She is a member of the Angels, a quilting donation group. Her other hobbies include embroidery, Bears, Cloth dolls, and clothing for her granddaughter.
